Let’s cut to the chase: It may only be the end of April and still feel like spring, but in the SCCA® National Solo® scene, May is when summer starts to get hot. That’s because the National Solo schedule contains six events across the Tire Rack SCCA Shootout, Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Tour, and Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo® Series schedules, with Memorial Day weekend containing one of the largest events outside of the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships (and for good reason).
What are all of these May events?
Ah, you’ve asked a great question!
Tire Rack SCCA Shootout
2025 Tire Rack SCCA Shootout Series @ St. Charles Family Arena
May 2-4
St. Charles Family Arena
St. Charles, MO
This is a fun one! Want to know why? There’s a whole bunch of reasons, and in this article we give you the top one.
Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Tour
2025 Tire Rack SCCA Crows Landing National Tour @ Crows Landing
May 2-4
Crows Landing
Crows Landing, CA
2025 Tire Rack SCCA Lincoln National Tour @ Lincoln Airpark
May 24-26
Lincoln Airpark
Lincoln, NE
2025 Tire Rack SCCA Grissom National Tour @ Grissom Aeroplex
May 30-June 1
Grissom Aeroplex
Bunker Hill, IN
These events are all worth noting for a variety of reasons.
Crows Landing is a popular site in Northern California and brings a grippy surface all weekend long. Crows is a near sell-out year in and year out, so you’ll want to sign up soon.
Likewise, Grissom Aeroplex in Peru, IN, (or Bunker Hill, technically) hosts acres of concrete ready for the best courses available. This event always receives rave reviews and should be one for Midwesterners and East Coasters on the way home from Lincoln to attend.
And yes, we skipped Lincoln. Stick a pin in it – we’ll come back to that one.
Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo Series
2025 Tire Rack SCCA Washington DC ProSolo @ Northwest Stadium
May 16-18
Northwest Stadium
Landover, MD
2025 Tire Rack SCCA Lincoln ProSolo @ Lincoln Airpark
May 22-24
Lincoln Airpark
Lincoln, NE
ProSolo – the opportunity to line up, earn contingency prizes, and go head-to-head with the best that autocross has to offer.
May’s ProSolo’s begin in the parking lot of the home of the Washington Commanders near Washington, DC. Just like DC should be, we’ll have a solid blend of left-side and right-side runs to end up in the middle and make almost everyone happy. This event is absolutely hitting capacity, so get onto the wait list now if you’d like to attend.
Oops, we skipped Lincoln again. Here you go…
Lincoln’s Spring Nationals
Lincoln gets its own section in the monthly preview, especially during the month of May since Lincoln, NE, competition begins on May 22-24 with the ProSolo, then keeps going May 24-26 with the Solo National Tour. We call this giant party Spring Nationals.
Fun fact: While several drivers – including Kyle Larson this year – have tried to complete the Memorial Day weekend double of Indianapolis and Charlotte, no one has been able to complete the triple and run Lincoln, Indianapolis, and Charlotte all in the same day. What does that tell us? That the Lincoln leg must be the most difficult!
This holiday weekend allows those across the country to get a tune-up for the Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo Finale and Solo National Championships in September and discover any changes that may need to be made to their cars. But really, the Lincon Spring Nationals is a chance to get together for four days with your best friends and biggest rivals. Isn’t that why we do this?
Don’t wait!
These are all popular events, so click the event links above or hop over to the Solo National Tour and ProSolo Series pages to get any additional information you may need – then register, because these events are filling up fast!
