In less than a dozen weeks, the 2025 Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour will be in full swing. Yet while the Hoosier Super Tour kicking off during the second weekend of January is of little surprise, there’s a lot going on this year surrounding the Hoosier Super Tour that requires every racer to take a second look at the coming season.
Over the last several months, SCCA announced that there will be changes to the Hoosier Super Tour run groups that align with SCCA Road Racing class changes and consolidations, like American Sedan running with Touring 2, GT-Lite racing within F Production, and Super Touring® Under and GT-3 taking steps toward future consolidation. These changes will take effect starting with the first Hoosier Super Tour of 2025.
Before we get into some other race class and group specifics, however, let’s look at the 2025 Hoosier Super Tour season.

Changes for the 2025 Season
For 2025, changes to the standard run group combinations will apply to all Hoosier Super Tour events. In addition, larger Hoosier Super Tour events will not include the small open-wheel run group comprising of Formula F, Formula Vee, and Formula 600.
The FF, FV, and F600 run group is consistently the least-subscribed across the Hoosier Super Tour season and incompatible for other grouping considerations. To address crowding in other run groups that are highly subscribed and often at the group limit threshold, SCCA has decided to reallocate the on-track session time of the small open-wheel group to create space in the schedule.
The alternatives would be to reduce track time for all to create another run group, or place a cap on entries for run groups that are highly subscribed.
The FF, FV, and F600 classes will have bonus U.S. Majors Tour® event opportunities at select Regional event weekends, which will earn U.S. Majors Tour Conference points (but not be eligible for Hoosier Super Tour points). These will be added to the event calendar at several tracks hosting Hoosier Super Tours, but on Regional race weekends. Tracks currently planning bonus Majors opportunities for these classes include Sebring International Raceway, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, VIRginia International Raceway, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and Watkins Glen International.
As was previously announced, GT-Lite cars will be eligible in F Production. GT-Lite will no longer be a Super Tour or Conference Majors class but will remain a regional-only class.
Additionally, Formula X will not be included in the Hoosier Super Tour for the 2025 season, but will remain a Conference Majors-eligible class.

The SCCA appreciates all of the member feedback and the collective effort by the SCCA Board of Directors, Club Racing Board (CRB), and SCCA National Staff to create these enhancements to the Hoosier Super Tour program. These changes will ultimately build a better SCCA Road Racing program experience for Hoosier Super Tours as well as the National Championship Runoffs®.
