Ten weekends make up the Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour (HST) in 2025, all of which are part of the Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing program. The April 5-6 gathering hosted by SCCA’s North Carolina Region at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton, VA, stamps the season’s midway point for those seeking Nationwide Point Championships.
This two-day event roars along the border of North Carolina and southern Virginia at one of the country’s first permanent road racing circuits. Opened in 1957 as a 3.27-mile track, it has largely remained the same over the years, with some strategic track widening in certain places for safer runoff room.
Event registration for the upcoming Super Tour at VIR is open for both volunteers and drivers, links for which you’ll find below.

Bellwether Contests at VIR
Virginia is for lovers, especially lovers of sports car racing thanks to VIR’s natural-terrain circuit that curls through lush, green environs. Better yet, the VIR HST weekend offers drivers lots of track time to digest the awe-inspiring experience.
The two-day schedule starts Saturday morning, April 5, with 20-minute qualifying for each of the seven run groups. That’s followed by 25-minute races to decide the first set of podium finishers. Then to close the day, an All Participant Party at the “Pavillion” courts everyone for beverages, food, and camaraderie.
Sunday morning then sees another round of 15-minute qualifying for all run groups, followed by 35-minute or 14-lap contests to decide who earns commemorative Mazza Vineyards sparkling wine bottles during victory podium celebrations.
Entry numbers are already rising, and the level of competition is stout. For instance, reigning Runoffs® B-Spec National Champion Richard Hromin looks to be making his first HST appearance of the year behind the wheel of the No. 11 RAT Sport/RP Performance/PAW/VCF/Carbotech MINI Cooper. Within that class he’ll face Stewart Black in the No. 40 Bill Black Autosports Chevrolet Sonic, who holds the HST Nationwide Points Championship in the class.
Charles Russell Turner, reigning Spec Racer® Ford Gen3 National Champion, will be at VIR to amass Runoffs qualification credits while perhaps cementing dominance over a 30-car field in his No. 23 PCS sled. That group includes the No. 119 Vanacore Homes/Comprent Motorsports car driven by Todd Vanacore, the current Prototype 1 HST Nationwide Points Champion.
In Super Touring® Under you’ll find David Fiorelli in the No. 190 Ford Mustang, who is the HST Nationwide Points Champion in that class. And swooping in for his first HST appearance of 2025 is John Heinricy in the No. 135 Hoosier/Hawk/Mobil Cadillac CT4 Blackwing. That’s a Touring 2 (T2) machine wielded by the current T2 HST Nationwide Points Champion.
Another ace to watch is Touring 4’s Marc Cefalo in the No. 00 Planet-Miata.com Mazda RX-8, who is the Nationwide Points Champion for that class. Michael McAleenan, in the No. 3 Smith Alling PS/Lowe Group Racing/Kidder Mathews Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo, is an eyecatcher as well since he’s the current GT-1 HST Nationwide Points Champion.
Lots to enjoy and watch, so click the schedule below to find the times for your favorite matchups.
