Hallett to Open Second Half of 2025 Hoosier Super Tour Season

Now behind us is the opening half of Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour’s (HST) 2025 season, which is part of the Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing program. The tricked-out Bravo Trailer that shuttles the series from one destination to the next now drives into the second half of a 10-event calendar, with the next stop being an April 26-27, 2025, visit to Jennings, OK, and Hallett Motor Racing Circuit (HMRC) for a weekend hosted by SCCA’s Ark Valley Race Group.

Located in the rolling Osage Hills between Tulsa and Oklahoma City, this event is a popular one with both drivers and volunteers alike. But it won’t be your usual visit to HMRC this year as the 1.8-mile, 10-turn circuit was recently repaved along with the false grid and some paddock roads.

While the track may have a new surface, the venue’s old soul is very much present. Driver and volunteer registration is already open for this two-day event, so get signed up today and don’t miss a moment of this fun experience.

Heavy Hitters at Hallett

Seven run groups will be on display at HMRC, and the drivers within those groups will start their weekend with 20-minute qualifying sessions Saturday morning. That will be followed by 25-minute races Saturday afternoon for each of those run groups.

On-track activity gets going again at 8 a.m. Central Time Sunday with 15-minute qualifying for each run group, followed by 35-minute or 27-lap contests. The top three finishers in each car class on Sunday then earn trophies and commemorative bottles of Mazza Vineyards sparkling wine.

There will be no shortage of talented drivers looking to grab those Mazza bottles at HMRC. For instance, Jesse Prather almost never skips an HST weekend at that track. He’ll be there again this year, helping Jesse Prather Motorsports clients while driving the No. 34 Sunoco/Carbotech/Hoosier/Amsoil Mazda 2 in H Production – and keep in mind, he’s the reigning SCCA Runoffs® National Champion in that class.

Another face spotted almost annually at the HST HMRC event is Charlie Peter. He was the only driver in 2024 who claimed two Runoffs championships, one being Touring 2 (T2) and the other in GT-2. This will be Peter’s first HST event of the season, but as of the posting of this article he is only registered to compete in the T2 field driving the No. 66 Phenix Label/Red Line Synthetic Oil BMW M2 machine.

A couple drivers not always seen in Oklahoma will also be at HMRC this year. That includes Ethan Lampe, the reigning Spec MX-5 (SMX) National Champion. He’ll be piloting the No. 95 Mazda MX-5 car at HMRC after doubling up on SMX HST victories at NOLA Motorsports Park and The Circuit at Buttonwillow Raceway Park.

Then there’s California’s Michael Lewis, the reigning GT-3 HST Nationwide Points Champion and 2024 Runoffs class winner. Lewis will be driving the No. 32 Goodyear Mazda RX-7 in GT3U competition at HMRC. He is also entered in the F Production field that includes heavy hitters such as Cliff Ira in a Honda Civic Del Sol VTEC, Ken Kannard and his Acura Integra, Stephen Simonds driving a Mazda Miata, and Eric Prill hoofing a borrowed Toyota Tercel.
