There’s a lot going on in SCCA® Time Trials and time attack competition right now, with the biggest news being a bombshell schedule that recently dropped about the 2024 NATA Championship. But to understand that – and why it means you need to attend the April 13-14, 2024, Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials National Tour Powered by Hagerty (TTNT) at Road America – you first need to know what NATA stands for.
In a literal sense, NATA stands for “North American Time Attack Council.” Launched in late 2018, NATA saw SCCA, GRIDLIFE, and Global Time Attack join forces to bring the best time attack programs under a unified umbrella, ultimately streamlining and simplifying competitor licensing requirements.
In a more figurative sense, NATA stands for bringing the best time attack events to the masses. That really swung into action in 2023 with the three-event NATA Championship, with 2024 taking it up a notch with a six-event series that starts and ends with a Time Trials National Tour.
Back to that April TTNT at Road America: SCCA’s event marks the green flag to the NATA Championship season, with the checkered flag flying on Oct. 24-27 during the Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals Powered by Hagerty.
2024 NATA Championship Schedule
- April 13-14: Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials National Tour Powered by Hagerty at Road America, Plymouth, WI
- May 10-11: Global Time Attack at Road Atlanta, Braselton, GA
- June 28-30: GRIDLIFE Mid-Ohio Meet at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lexington, OH
- July 5-6: Global Time Attack Ascend PPIR 2024 at Pikes Peak Int’l Raceway, Fountain, CO
- Sept. 14-15: GRIDLIFE Chicagoland at Autobahn Country Club, Joliet, IL
- Oct. 24-27: Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals Powered by Hagerty at NCM Motorsports Park, Bowling Green, KY
Come season’s end, the top three NATA Championship finishers in each class will win a free entry to any organization they didn’t run with that year. If the driver competed in SCCA, GRIDLIFE, and Global Time Attack NATA Championship events in 2024, they get their pick of an entry. The top three finishers will also be featured in Grassroots Motorsports magazine.

“We’re excited for the fact that the NATA Championship is back for 2024, and that SCCA gets to kick the party off with our Time Trials National Tour at Road America,” says John Hunter, SCCA’s Manager of National Time Trials. “There’s no better place to launch an awesome opportunity like this than at the historic Road America.”
This year’s Road America Time Trials National Tour is thrilling for a multitude of reasons, one of which is that 2024 is the first time the Time Trials National Tour has ever visited the 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit. Known for its long straights, challenging Kink and Carousel, and high-speed run into Turn 5, every driving enthusiast dreams of conquering Road America.
Registration for the April 13-14, 2024, Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials National Tour Powered by Hagerty is open now, with an entry cap of 90 drivers. Also on tap for the weekend is a Track Event. Modeled after the popular SCCA Track Night in America® Driven by Tire Rack events, the Track Events that accompany TTNT weekends offer drivers numerous non-timed on-track sessions, allowing participants to have #funwithcars at their own pace.
