Revised SCCA Fees Announced

TOPEKA, Kan. (Dec. 9, 2009) €“ The SCCA® Board of Directors finalized its 2009 fee structure for dues, sanctions and insurance. While some areas of the business will experience inflation, others will enjoy decreases.€œOverall, the news is positive for active participants in SCCA,€ SCCA President and CEO Jim Julow said. €œWhile there are some increases in our fees, we have also found considerable savings on the insurance side that offset these. The cost of running any business continues to rise, but we€™ve been able to find some relief for 2009, which is passed through directly to Regions and our participants.€œOverall, the cost to Regions of running an event will not increase from 2008 to 2009.€Membership dues will increase $5 from $60 to $65. Family dues will increase $6 to $101, while spouse memberships will increase $3 to $23. This is the first dues increase in three years. First Gear memberships remain unchanged.Fee increases were offset by a reduction in insurance fees across the board. For the first time in several years, the Club-wide insurance policy was put out to bid, with responses coming from four different carriers.Additional changes included:Club Racing- Increase Regional and National competition licenses by $5- Elimination of distinction between spectator and non-spectator at a flat rate of $1,400 for liability insurance- Decrease Club Racing PA Insurance $5 per car to $28- Decrease Driver School PA Insurance $3 per car to $19- Decrease Time Trials/Hillclimb PA Insurance $3 and $4 per car, respectivelyRally- Increase RallyCross Sanction Fee from $3 to $4 per car- Increase Road Rally Sanction Fee for Regional events from $2 to $4 per car- Sanction fee for a 3-day or longer event changed to $500 per event- Increase sanction fee for a charity event $20 to $70- Decrease RallyCross Insurance fee $1 per car to $4Solo- Increase Regional Solo Sanction Fee from $3.75 to $4.50 per car- Decrease Insurance $1 per car to $5With the changes, the Solo Department has made a policy change requiring event audits to take place within two weeks from the end of the event.Volunteer Incentive Programs remained unchanged from 2008.A full list of changes will be listed in the January 2009 Fastrack® news.
