As part of our new partnership with the American Le Mans Series, one SCCA member is honored in each American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón television broadcast as the SCCA Star Performer. Robert Thorne, Chip Van Vurst, Scott Rettich and Ron Sharp have already been recognized in the Lime Rock, Mosport, Mid-Ohio and Road America broadcasts, respectively, and the fifth recipient will be named this weekend, when the ALMS travels to the East Coast for the inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix weekend. The Star Performer will be revealed during Saturday afternoons live broadcast on ESPN3.com (4:15 p.m. EDT) and Sundays tape-delayed presentation on ABC (4 p.m. EDT). With the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships and Tire Rack ProSolo Finale happening in the last week, there's a good chance that a newly crowned National Champion will be featured. Coverage of this weekends race at Baltimore begins today, Friday, Sept. 2, with practice at 2:40 p.m. (EDT) on ESPN3.com. Live qualifying will also appear on ESPN3.com at 5:50 p.m. (EDT). Live coverage of the race is also available on ESPN3.com Saturday, Sept. 3 beginning at 4:15 p.m. (EDT). The television broadcast on ABC will be aired on Sunday, Sept. 4 beginning at 4 p.m. Note that due to delays with the start of the event that the schedule may be revised.
