TOPEKA, Kan. (October 4, 2012) – Seven different drivers at the 2012 Tire Rack SCCA® Solo® National Championships earned GoPro HERO2 cameras for the largest position improvement in their category from the opening day to the second day of competition.
The awards were handed out as part of SCCA’s GoPro HERO Moment series at its National Championship events. A HERO Moment was also selected in each race at the SCCA National Championship Runoffs®, as well as for the winners at the RallyCross National Championships.
At the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships, one award was handed out in Stock, Street Touring, Street Prepared, Prepared, Street Modified, Modified and “Other” categories.
The biggest mover at the event was Todd Roberts, of Austin, Texas, who improved 17 positions overnight in the No. 75 Hangover Racing Team MAZDASPEED3 to finish 17th overall in Street Touring® X.
Two other drivers also improved more than 10 positions to take category wins. Samuel Krauss, of Montreal, improved 13 positions in the DSMDoug.com/Andeny/Team Rip Eagle Talon to finish 13th in E Street Prepared. Jeremy Anderson, of Winona, Minn., drove a Chevrolet Corvette to a 27th place finish in Road Tire RWD to improve 12 positions and take the HERO Moment in the “other” category.
The GoPro HERO Moment winners from the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships are:
Stock: Randolph Petschauer, improved 8 positions, finished 20th in SS. Street Touring: Todd Roberts, improved 17 positions, finished 17th in STX. Street Prepared: Samuel Krauss, improved 13 positions, finished 13th in ESP. Prepared: Corey Pettett, improved 6 positions, finished 15th in XP. Street Modified: Chris Teague, improved 5 positions, finished 7th in SM. Modified: Eric Clements, improved 7 positions, finished 15th in KM. Other: Jeremy Anderson, improved 12 positions, finished 27th in RTR.
Winners will have their GoPro HERO2 cameras shipped to their homes.
