SCCA Shootout Registration Begins for NCM Motorsport Park: Don’t Miss It!

The inaugural Tire Rack SCCA® Shootout season is underway, with a thriller of a debut that set the scene for the remainder of the six-event nationwide points series. The first stop pitted drivers against each other and the clock on a pair of autocross courses before swapping to the racetrack for day two – and it’s about to happen once more, but this time at NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green, KY, on May 16-18, 2025. With registration now open, it’s the time to stake your spot at what could be one of the most challenging stops in this nationwide series.

NCM has been a mainstay in SCCA competition for years, which means drivers really know there way around this winding 3.15-mile circuit. But unlike a pure SCCA Time Attack weekend, Shootout drivers will have to contend on the Solo® pad first before hitting the high-speed thrills of the Grand Full Course.

While we can’t offer you a preview of the Shootout’s autocross course, we can tease you with this in-car view from the Tuner 3 Toyota GR86 Will Robbins wheeled at NCM just last year – then just try to tell us this track isn’t a blast.

The Rules

The Shootout is new to SCCA’s playbook, so let us fill you in on the classing structure. Shootouts are based on a limited number of SCCA Autocross classes, although many National Solo classes fit nicely into that offering. Shootout weekends invite all Street Touring, Classic American Muscle, and Xtreme Street categories, along with Club Spec Mustang, Club Spec MX-5, and Solo Spec Coupe. That means if you’re wheeling a production-based, street-going car, there’s likely a spot for you.

But what if your car’s built to SCCA’s Time Trials rules? Chances are good that you’ll also fit in a Shootout class. If you’re unsure, you can ask for help during the registration process.

Join the fun!

Which brings us back to the point: Registration for the May 16-18, 2025, Tire Rack SCCA Shootout at NCM Motorsports Park is open! And the other point: You won’t want to miss it.
