SCCA’s National Solo Season is About to Launch – Are You Ready?

It’s time to break the beam of the timing lights, because the Tire Rack SCCA® Solo® National Tour and Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo® Championship Series are about to get underway.

This is going to be quite the season, too. There are new food adventures coming your way (are you a lobster roll or a barbecue fan?) and new surfaces to thrash, plus new locations to enjoy and old favorites returning in order to relive good times. On top of that, there are point championships to chase.

It all gets underway in Phoenix with the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Tour at Arizona Motorsports Park, taking place Feb. 21-23, 2025. (BTW, you can still register for the Arizona event.)

Double Doubles
The “Double Double” is no longer a West Coast exclusive, at least in the Solo program. This year’s calendar features four double events (including the Tire Rack ProSolo Finale and Solo National Championships) that include a ProSolo/Solo National Tour double feature.

Lincoln’s traditional Memorial Day weekend event in Nebraska remains, as does (naturally) the Labor Day bonanza that crowns champions. Bristol, TN, and the “Last Great Colosseum” has become a summer tradition, with a ProSolo/Solo National Tour dual billing event encompassing the Fourth of July holiday.

How about June in Maine? The Lobster Nats have a firm grip in Brunswick, with the ProSolo on June 4-6 and then June 7-8 for the Solo National Tour. The Brunswick Executive Airport has proven to be a popular site, and the reward for this year is more points for everyone!

Cleared for Take Off
The launch may have been scrapped initially, but the countdown is on for the newest site on the Solo National Tour – near Burns Flat, OK. We’ll admit Burns Flat is not a metropolitan area, off of I-40 about an hour from Oklahoma City, but there’s a great reason for that.

That reason? How about 2.5-miles of a concrete runway – a strip so big that it’s capable of a space mission. The site is called the Oklahoma Air & Space Port (or the Clinton-Sherman Industrial Airpark), and covers 1,690 acres. While we won’t use all of it, it’s literally big enough to launch a space flight and bring it home again. We think you’ll love the location.

Plan to be there for the ProSolo on Aug. 1-3.

Leaning Left
West Coasters, you’ll be well represented this year – especially on the ProSolo calendar. Back-to-back weekends in Vegas, Crows Landing, and Packwood all continue to dot the calendar.

On the traditional Solo National Tour side of things, you’ll be welcome in Phoenix, Crows Landing, and Packwood once again. And while the run from Phoenix to Packwood is not exactly short, we hope you’ll join us for as many that make sense – within your home area or outside of it.

Contingency Cash and Prizes

Before putting the final touches on the car, don’t forget to register for contingency programs. Like always, the focus is on manufacturer, brake, and tire companies, and the return can be very beneficial to competitors.

Two tips:

  • Sign up, even if you think you won’t win. There’s no worse feeling than surprising yourself in the results, only to realize you left literal money on the table.
  • Remember, this is contingency – which means it’s contingent on something. One of those things, universally, is signing up. So please – go sign up in advance!

That said, not all programs are finalized for 2025, but that doesn’t mean they’re not coming.
