The 2024 SCCA® National Championship Runoffs®, which took place Sept. 28-Oct. 6 at Road America in Plymouth, WI, was astounding for many reasons. For one, Hurricane Helene had just ravaged the southeast, leaving destruction from Florida to the Carolinas and making it impossible for many racers and workers to attend this year’s National Championship event. Yet for the hundreds of racers and volunteers who managed the trip, the weeklong winner-take-all event was incredible. From Runoffs victories decided by fractions of a second, to families sharing the podium, and more, this was a Runoffs to behold – and now you can, anytime you feel like it.
That’s right, all 26 Runoffs races – which were viewed more than 100,000 times over the course of the three-day live stream – are now available for individual viewing on SCCA’s YouTube channel. That means every turn of every lap, beginning with the incredible B-Spec race that kicked off the action at 8:15 a.m. CT on Friday, Oct. 4, to the nailbiter of a Prototype 1 battle that wrapped up the action two days later, is just a click away.
The more than two dozen races, which took place over three Hagerty Race Days, were captured thanks to the professional production team of Apex Broadcast. The play-by-play race action was called by renowned commentators Greg Creamer and John Fippin, with color commentary added by SCCA stalwart Larry “Lefty” MacLeod and pro racer Tom O’Gorman. In addition, Heyward Wagner added insight from grid and pit lane, as well as captured the emotion from competitors immediately after the races.
So go on and…
But Before That…
Before you jump into more than 26 hours of race coverage, let’s prime the pump with a three-minute highlight reel from the 2024 Runoffs. This footage was captured in and around Road America’s 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit in the picturesque Kettle Moraine during the National Championship event.
