It’s been a heck of a year for SCCA® National RallyCross® competition, and it’s all about to come down to one event. This year featured four spectacular RallyCross National Tours, with the first taking to the dirt on May 31-June 2 in Northern California. From there, the Tour hit Billy Bob’s Farm in Billings, OK, on June 14-16, with the third stop coming Aug. 9-11 at Hollytree Off Road Park in Alabama. The final stop on the Tour was not long ago, Aug. 30-Sept. 1, in Cottageville, W Va. Now comes the really big one: The Oct. 17-20, 2024, SCCA RallyCross National Championship. This one is for all the marbles. But who will win? We have no clue – but if we work together, perhaps we can predict the winners.
Just how does someone predict winner? One indicator is past performance. Some drivers have won a National Championship title before, and those names certainly rise to the top. But there’s also those who competed in this year’s RallyCross National Tour to consider.
National Tours are great fun, offering experience for drivers looking to put test their mettle against the best in the business. This type of competition often offers an edge when it comes to comfort with course design and the pressures found at the winner-take-all National Championship event.
Beyond that, the upcoming 2024 RallyCross National Championship utilizes the same competition field as the third round of this year’s RallyCross National Tour. Will that play into the winning equation for some of these competitors? Undoubtedly!
Back to predicting the winners together. Over the coming days, we’ll present you with a series of polls for this year’s RallyCross National Championship. We’ll begin with Stock (in this article), then move on to Prepared, Modified, and UTV. Your job is to carefully consider the competition, then click. Easy-peasy, right?
