Precisely 100 members celebrated an anniversary with the Sports Car Club of America® in July. Of those, 24 are 40-year members, 19 are 35-year members, and 23 are 30-year members, making the 1980s the decade that seems to have attracted the most members who joined in July and stuck around for the long haul. But while mathematically that is the case, there are numerous members who joined in the 1990s who deserve special recognition.
Celebrating 25 years of membership in July is R. Bruce Gezon. In 2021, Gezon was inducted into the SCCA Hall of Fame for his contributions to the Club through the RoadRally program. In fact, Gezon was the first member of the SCCA Hall of Fame to have predominantly built his legacy exclusively through RoadRally.
Michelle and Robert Seelig are a power couple celebrating 30 years of membership. Michelle has earned five Solo National Championship jackets, while Robert is one of only a handful of members who have won both a Solo National Championship and a RallyCross National Championship title. In 2020, Robert also earned the Triple Cross award, with Michelle locking in the Triad Award in 2009.
And finally, Sam Strano is a 30-year member who has accomplished a lot since joining the Club. Known for his driving and tuning prowess, Strano has earned the Solo Driver of Eminence award, Solo Nationals Driver of the Year award, the Triad Award (twice), and an impressive 10 Solo National Championships.
None of that is to discount the accomplishments of the other members listed below, especially Bill Lane, who joined the Club in 1964, and Lindley Manning, who signed up for his membership in 1954 – 70 years ago!
