Can you feel it?
With the Sept. 3-6, 2024, Tire Rack SCCA® Solo® National Championships already sold out and the Aug. 30-Sept. 1 Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo® Championship Finale registration about to click into gear, autocross excitement permeates the air. Still, if only there was MORE autocross action to pack into that week to make the party even bigger. Turns out, if you’re lucky enough to be wheeling one of these four categories of competition vehicles, that’s exactly what you can do.
This year’s CAM Invitational Shootout takes place on the same grippy Lincoln Airpark concrete that houses the Solo Nats and ProSolo Finale in Nebraska’s capital city, and in 2024, it does so on Saturday, Aug. 31, at the same time as (but on a different course than) the ProSolo Finale. But Classic American Muscle (CAM) drivers aren’t the only ones invited to this shootout – this year, Xtreme Street (XS), Club Spec MX-5 (CSX), and Club Spec Mustang (CSM) are in the mix, too.
This gives those who didn’t qualify for the ProSolo Finale a chance to rip around cones before the Solo Nats kicks off.
There’s no way you don’t feel that!
“We’re thrilled to once again bring this Invitational Shootout to the Solo National Championships experience, helping put an exclamation point on SCCA’s National Solo season,” said Rick Myers, SCCA’s Director of Rally/Solo. “CAM, XS, and Club Spec drivers will compete on a modified version of the Test & Tune course, providing a fast, fun, and challenging day of competition on the concrete Lincoln Airpark is famous for. This location truly is the ultimate autocross mecca.”
As an invitational event, entries will be limited. In fact, there are only 85 spots across CAM, XS, and Club Spec – and given that the price of admission is just $50, tickets to this party will be hot commodities. Want proof? The 2023 CAM Invitational Shootout sold out, and this one will, too.
Registration for the CAM (and XS and Club Spec!) Invitational Shootout begins on July 24, 2024, at 3 p.m. CT.
