Success at the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships doesn’t happen by accident. To the contrary. While some competitors might luck into a turn of weather that favors their run order, by and large, it’s those who prepare who turn out on top. For that, one vital date for the Sept. 6-9, 2022, Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships in Lincoln, NE, is nearing: registration for the Test n Tune.
From mechanical shakedowns to getting into the rhythm to last-minute tuning, there are many valuable reasons to utilize the Test n Tune course, which takes place on site at Lincoln Airpark throughout the Solo Nationals week. But to take advantage of the Test n Tune, first you must register.
Registration for the Nebraska Region-hosted Test n Tune course opens on June 22, at 5 p.m. CDT. Each Test n Tune time slot comes in one-hour increments, with the slot beginning at the top of the hour. The cost is $50 for a one-hour slot, which includes four runs, and there is a cap of 35 vehicles per hour. Competitors may purchase more than one block of time, although they may not purchase multiple entries within the same hour. Also, the Test n Tune does not involve any work assignments.
Of note is that $10 of the $50 fee goes to the SCCA Foundation to support the Tire Rack Street Survival Schools.
