The Classic American Muscle classes came to the Tire Rack Solo National Championship as supplemental class, intended to attract a new SCCA participants. Thirty-four drivers competed in the three CAM classes in Lincoln this past September.
In the CAM Traditional class, eight drivers took to the courses. Of them, two racing legends joined the ranks: Al Unser, Jr. and Robby Unser. Yes, an Indy 500 Champion competed at Solo Nationals. Al Jr. didn’t win though. He was defeated by Mary Pozzi, a long-time Solo competitor from Salinas, California.
