‘Bon Temps’ Ahead for ’25 Hoosier Super Tour at NOLA Motorsports Park

Just like Ol’ Man River, the 2025 Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour (HST) keeps rolling along – with the next stop not far from the Mississippi River and downtown New Orleans – we’re talking about the March 22-23, 2025, wheel-to-wheel racing soirée hosted jointly by SCCA’s Lone Star Region and Southwest Division in Avondale, LA, at NOLA Motorsports Park.

Part of the Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing program, this two-day HST race weekend is the fourth of 10 on this year’s schedule. It’s the second straight year NOLA has been included on the calendar, incidentally on a playground designed by Alan Wilson, whose other layouts include Barber Motorsports Park, GingerMan Raceway, and Pittsburgh International Race Complex.

Be you an SCCA volunteer or driver, click the links below and get registered today. That ensures you won’t miss a perfect excuse to sip from the Big Easy. And leave some room for trophies and commemorative bottles of Mazza Vineyards sparkling wine in Bravo Trailers as lagniappes after victory podium appearances.

Party Times and Party People

Being a two-day event, on-track action gets serious quick at 8 a.m. Central Time Saturday, March 22, with 20-minute qualifying sessions for all competitors around the 2.75-mile, 16-turn circuit. That’s followed by 25-minute races for each of the seven run groups.

After Saturday night’s party, things get going again Sunday at 8 a.m. local time with a round of 15-minute qualifying for all contestants, followed by 35-minute or 18-lap events to crown HST royalty in the Crescent City.

Sunoco race fuel will power many intriguing battles at NOLA, such as Spec MX-5 (SMX) where Ethan Lampe is registered. He’s the reigning SMX Runoffs® Champion and recent Jim Fitzgerald Rookie of the Year award winner. Two SMX victories were notched by Lampe in California during HST’s visit to The Circuit at Buttonwillow, and he’ll be one to watch in the bayou for sure.

Call him Charles, Chuck, or Russell; Charles Russell Turner is a dominant driver in the mix at NOLA. He’s the reigning Spec Racer Ford Gen3 (SRF3) Runoffs winner, as well as the current Formula Enterprises® 2 (FE2) HST Nationwide Points Champion. In SRF3, Turner will tango with known entities such as Denny Stripling, Cliff White and Touring 3 HST Nationwide Points Champ Richard Baldwin.

Other items of interest in the lineup include Steve Whitston, current Formula Vee® National Champion, competing in the FE2 field. Then there’s Stewart Black, who claimed the B-Spec HST Nationwide Points Championship last year and will be seeking another B-Spec trophy at NOLA.

Check the event schedule below to see which races are going off when.
