One of the most exciting new classes in SCCA® Road Racing is Spec MX-5. A standalone series through 2023, Spec MX-5 (SMX) became an SCCA National Championship Runoffs®-eligible class starting in 2024, and the results were impressive. With 23 racers taking the green during the Oct. 5, 2024, Runoffs race at Road America, the battle came down to a drag race to the checker, with the top two separated by a margin of just 0.161sec. The action was so amazing that others undoubtedly watched the battles and wondered how they could get involved. Well, thanks to Mazda Motorsports, jumping into the class just got 15% easier. But be warned – this is a limited time offer.
From now through Nov. 30, 2024, Mazda Motorsports is offering a 15% discount on nearly all Spec MX-5 parts.
“We’re thrilled with the progress we’ve seen in Spec MX-5 as the SCCA’s newest National Championship-eligible class,” said Josh Smith, Mazda Motorsports’ Business Development Manager. “With an average of 22 cars at each Super Tour event in 2024, we’re eager to keep the momentum going with this new discount offer. We’ve already sold over 180 build kits in total, and with another 30-50 cars expected to be built before the next race season, we’re confident in the continued growth of this class. This is a long-term commitment for our department, and we’re fully stocked on both competition and OEM parts to ensure we support Spec MX-5 for many years to come.”
This sale gets better, too, as the 15% discount also extends to OEM NC MX-5 parts.
There are two exceptions and one sidenote to this limited-time discount. The two exceptions apply to the hardtop and the Roush engine – those are not in line for the discount. The sidenote, meanwhile, is that orders must be placed through the Mazda parts hotline at (800) 435-2508, and not online.
Outside of that, the Spec MX-5 and OEM NC MX-5 parts discounts are flowing freely, so if you need Penske shocks, shock mounts, radiators, oil coolers, crank sensors, a/c delete pulleys, or any number of other parts that fit the NC MX-5, you’ll need to act fast, because time, as they say, is running out.
