SCCA Podium Celebrations Will Sparkle in 2025 Thanks to Mazza Vineyards

Mazza Vineyards has been making select SCCA® podium celebrations an outright party for a decade now, and as we enter the 10th year of Mazza being SCCA’s “Official Sparkling Wine,” the Club’s podium celebrations will continue as strong as ever with SCCA’s fastest drivers being given plenty of opportunities to spray Mazza bubbly with friends. You know, the way winners should.

From day one of the SCCA-Mazza partnership, Mazza has supplied sparkling wine to a variety of Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing events, including the National Championship Runoffs® and Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour. The party went beyond that, though, with Mazza’s sparkling wine also being the bubbly of choice at Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo® Series events (including the ProSolo Finale) as well as at the RallyCross® National Championship.

None of this is to say that podium finishers are required to spray Mazza sparkling wine – they can instead choose to savor the bottle in its entirety. But for those itching to live out their inner Dan Gurney, Mazza is here to make it happen.

Spraying bubbly isn’t as straightforward as you might think, though, with SCCA partaking in several unscientific tests, like this one that appeared in the June 2018 issue of SCCA’s SportsCar magazine, along with this Instagram video where SCCA’s Road Racing department showcased several spraying tips in SCCA’s parking lot last year.

An SCCA Connection

Mazza Vineyards was founded in 1972 by brothers Bob and Frank Mazza and gained prominence after earning awards for their winemaking. Planted in North East, PA, the company also produces high-end spirits and beers. Mazza Vineyards remains the family’s flagship brand, with sparkling wines housed at South Shore Wine Company, while newer Mazza Chautauqua Cellars and Five & 20 Spirits and Brewing are New York-based efforts today.

Incidentally, Bob Mazza is an SCCA member who has been known to get behind the wheel in SCCA Road Racing events. He competed in Formula Vee®, Club Ford, Formula Continental®, and D Sports Racing, and finally settled in a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS that was campaigned in Speed World Challenge and now runs in Super Touring® Under. Bob has competed in road racing for more than 30 years and has enjoyed numerous podiums.

In other words, this partnership was a match made in heaven.

Need More Mazza?

Not everyone will find themselves scoring a podium finish at the Super Tour, Runoffs, or one of the other places SCCA members get to spray Mazza, but that doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy Mazza’s products. In fact, Mazza Vineyards ships its beverages to most states, with free shipping on orders of more than $50 for SCCA members. To learn more about that deal, log into SCCA’s Member Benefits webpage to obtain the SCCA-only shipping coupon code.
