Stock up on snacks and get party invites prepped because the 2024 SCCA® National Championship Runoffs® presented by Sunoco will once again be broadcast live, online, and for free during the Oct. 4-6 Hagerty Race Days at Wisconsin’s Road America.
The 60th anniversary of SCCA’s Runoffs is only a few weeks away, with this marking the Club’s return to America’s National Park of Speed near Elkhart Lake. For the 16th-straight year, Apex Broadcast will provide multi-camera coverage presented by Mazda of all 26 winner-take-all contests held over three exciting days.
The broadcast will be available through SCCA.com and the SCCA Official YouTube channel. Then get comfortable on Oct. 4-6 and watch all the thrilling moments around Road America’s 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit on smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, desktops, laptops – in other words, pretty much anything with web access.

After all, the live video coverage is not just so you can enjoy the Runoffs – it’s also a way for Regions and Club members to share their passion for motorsports and Sports Car Club of America activities with others.
Knowledgeable Broadcast Presenters Return
Viewers will be very familiar with the five-man broadcast team covering the 2024 Runoffs. John Fippin and Greg Creamer will again split play-by-play duties across the three race days, aided by color commentary from Tom O’Gorman and Larry “Lefty” MacLeod. Heyward Wagner is also aboard again to add insight from grid and pit lane, as well as capture the emotion from competitors immediately after races.
Fippin’s Runoffs experience dates back to the 1990s with public address calls at Mid-Ohio, with his skills utilized today at various pro racing events. Creamer’s Runoffs broadcasting experience began in 1988, where he called the action over the PA at Road Atlanta. He continued as a Runoffs announcer through all of the Road Atlanta Runoffs days, also emceeing event banquets. His Runoffs announcing shifted to Speedvision and SPEED coverage at Mid-Ohio and Heartland Motorsports Park before lending his voice to SCCA’s free online streaming coverage. He also often spends time during Runoffs qualifying utilizing his Flagging & Communications license to volunteer trackside.
MacLeod and O’Gorman are SCCA competitors with multiple autocross National Championships between them, and a host of both real-world and virtual road racing experience. O’Gorman is also an IMSA race winner, a champion in Pirelli World Challenge, and has accumulated Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing experience at both the Regional and National level.
Wagner, now part of the National Championship broadcast team for more than a decade, spends his Runoffs galloping about to uncover details that often end up being keys to a Sunoco #fuelingvictories moment. Like the Energizer Bunny, he just keeps going, going, and going, running up and down the grid and pit lane for all three race days.
In addition to live race coverage, Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour announcers Brian Bielanski and Gregg Ginsberg return in 2024 with the Inside the SCCA podcast presented by Goodyear, which offers additional insights from Road America prior to the first race of each day, as well as during lunch breaks.
For those at Road America attending the Runoffs in person, audio from the Apex Broadcast production will air live around the circuit via the public address system on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Don’t Forget About Qualifying Coverage
Before the National Championship contests begin, there are three days of qualifying – that includes Sunoco 260 Tuesday on Oct. 1, Hawk “Brake-Through” Performer Wednesday on Oct. 2, and Thursday’s crucial Tire Rack Pole Day on Oct. 3. An audio-only broadcast will be offered during qualifying with commentary provided by Ginsberg, MacLeod, O’Gorman and Road America’s Eric Mueller.
The audio-only qualifying feed will be heard around Road America via the public address system, and can be accessed Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at the Runoffs Live Timing/Scoring webpage found at the top of SCCA.com during the event. The Live Timing/Scoring page will also feature current and archived data from all on-track sessions.
