Registration for the virtual 2024 SCCA National Convention (taking place Jan. 18-26 on a computer, phone, or tablet near you) is now open, and you need to sign up. Why? Well, for one, it’s free – and for two, it’s where you’ll learn about every program type the SCCA offers, along with tips and tricks for making those a success in your Region and Division. From event organization to registration, insurance, and more, the SCCA National Convention is the place to go if you want to grow your knowledge base and garner the tools needed to help your Region thrive.
Did someone say “grow?” We did! In fact, it’s the theme of the 2024 SCCA National Convention. But rest assured that there’s more to the SCCA National Convention than a theme name. For instance, there’s the Annual Meeting, town halls for all of SCCA’s programs, staff office hours (where you can chat with SCCA staff about any questions that are on your mind), and brainstorming sessions, to name a few things that’ll keep you busy.
We’ll get to more of that below – but first, click the link to register.
Can’t-Miss Sessions
The schedule for the 2024 SCCA National Convention isn’t finalized yet, but peeking behind the curtain shows that there are numerous sessions that’ll catch your eye.
Within the Solo department, there’s a rulebook trivia session that deep dives into requirements that many have forgotten. The Solo department has also planned a fascinating session about the future of the sport – this one will look at hard lessons learned through the years and discuss how members can become involved in shaping the future of autocross.
Is SCCA Road Racing your thing? That department has a slew of sessions planned for the upcoming SCCA National Convention, including an interactive session about how SCCA is working to connect prospective volunteers with their local Regions and Divisions. There’s a session on Flagtronics that will undoubtedly capture the attention of drivers and workers alike. Beyond that, there’s SCCA Enduro office hours, a program direction session, and more.
“Mash-up” has been the word of the year at the SCCA, and this year’s National Convention will feature a session on exactly that – what it is, what it can be, and how Regions can host their own mash-up events.
RoadRally is on the National Convention session board with a number of virtual gatherings covering everything from registration to RoadRally basics, program direction, and even a happy hour.
RallyCross, SCCA Foundation, Region Development, Board of Directors – oh, there’s a lot more going on at the 2024 SCCA National Convention than we’ve just told you.
We’ll be back soon with even more information – but if you want to beat us to the punch, download the Whova app, the central location for the SCCA National Convention. It’s also one of the first places we’ll be updating the National Convention schedule when it’s released on Dec. 15.
