The U.S. Majors Tour, part of the Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing program since 2013, is a series of premium road race events conducted throughout the country. For 2023, more than 30 different U.S. Majors Tour race weekends are anticipated around the United States, spanning 30-plus different venues. The season starts in early January at Homestead-Miami Speedway and comes to close in early September at MSR Houston.
Highly competitive and a draw for very talented SCCA road racers, U.S. Majors Tour events are distributed across six geographic Conferences, those being the Southeast, Southern, Western, Mid-States, Northern, and Northeast. Beyond thrilling race weekends, participation at U.S. Majors Tour events also helps drivers meet qualification requirements for the 2023 National Championship Runoffs being conducted at VIRginia International Raceway.
Annual weather patterns allow the Southeast, Southern, and Western Conferences to begin racing early in the year, whereas the Mid-States, Northern, and Northeast Conferences must wait until winter fades in April or May to begin their schedules. Due to that variance, some U.S. Majors Tour event dates have not yet been finalized.
What has been finalized for 2023 is the decision to not require U.S. Majors Tour series decals on racecars. However, Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing decals are still a must at all events, and the new Hoosier Super Tour series decal is required for those participating in Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour stops.

Reserve Your Number Now
Racers prepping for the 2023 U.S. Majors Tour or Hoosier Super Tour should think about securing car numbers for the coming season. While racers are free to compete in U.S. Majors Tour and Hoosier Super Tour events without reserving a car number, locking in a number helps competitors commit to a graphics package that is legible and looks good, with little fear of having to change numbers for certain events. Well thought out graphics also helps Timing and Scoring, Grid, and others with vehicle identification throughout the season.
Racers can currently secure a single or two-digit car number of their choosing for the specific Conference they plan to compete in (minus the numeral “1,” which is reserved for current SCCA National Champions in each class). Those looking to race in more than one of the U.S. Majors Tour Conferences can reserve a three-digit car number beginning with the number “1,” thus locking in their car number for all Conferences.
Series registration for a single Conference is $50, which includes a single or two-digit number. A second Conference number reservation can be added for an additional $50. For $150, a number can be reserved that will span all six Conferences in the U.S. Majors Tour, with the caveat that Tour-wide numbers must be three digits and begin with a “1.”
While Majors number reservations hold a car number, there are exceptions. Number reservations must be made at least 14 days prior to event registration. Also, dual-Conference events with duplicate number requests will give the reserved number to the driver who registered for the event first.
