2017 SCCA National Convention: A Sure Bet

Organizers of the 2017 SCCA National Convention have been toiling away for months to construct the most comprehensive, all-inclusive slate of informative seminars the Club’s convention has offered in some time.  Through the more than 50 sessions planned January 19-21 at South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, attendees will find multiple discussions that will add to their knowledge base, knowledge that should be taken back to Regions across the country and shared with others to help promote event operations and overall Club growth.

Questions on best practices for running Club Racing, Solo, RallyCross, Road Rally or Time Trials/PDX programs?  Plenty of people with lots of experience will be addressing such topics during the convention in sessions such as:
- Rallycross ABCs and XYZs
- Time Trials: How To
- Best Practices: Majors
- Building a Regional Road Rally Program
- Solo Site Acquisition

Looking for ways to market a Region’s activities and grow membership?  There will be people on hand at the convention providing insight on just such needs during seminars such as:
- RE Panel
- Recruiting Volunteers and Leaders
- Social Media Marketing
- Event Marketing
- Engaging Current and New Members

And when it comes to event operations, plenty of instruction will be available at this year’s convention in sessions such as:
- S2 Training: Club Racing Steward On-line Training
- Club Racing Speed Dating
- The Meaning of Stewardship
- Track Review
- How to Hide Cars

While there is a lot of information to be gained during the SCCA National Convention, there is also the opportunity to have a lot of fun with other members of the Club.  Beyond the classroom sessions, convention attendees can look forward to Las Vegas traditions that include:
- All-you-can-eat buffets. What’s not to like about that?
- The annual indoor karting, trash talking battle royal.
- Machines that give out free money!  You just got to have a system …
- Endless opportunities for “people watching.”
- The hotel’s beautiful outdoor pool.  Too chilly to use in January, but still lovely.
