2016 Tire Rack Thunder Valley Showdown: Tune-In

Check out the Thunder Valley Showdown Entry List!

You may want to revise the bit at the bottom about live timing or anything, since I know DC is also happening this weekend. Not sure what's the game plan for that...

With almost 200 competitors registered, Bristol is already proving to be one of the most popular Match Tours in recent history, and it hasn't even had it's inaugural running! Want to know what to look out for in the next few days? Here's a few quick picks...

Good Weather: Thus far, the weather gods have blessed the holy tarmac with 70 degree weather and relatively clear skies. That said, there does look to be a chance of rain later in the day Saturday, but one can hope that it doesn't start to impact things till the last car comes off course. Beyond that, Sunday might start off a bit chilly, but should warm up to the high 60's, and will be clear all day long, so bring a windbreaker and some sunscreen!

CS is Fierce!: With 27 competitors, CS is easily the largest class on site, with near double the entries as the next largest. It should also prove to be one of the most competitive. John Wolf is back after his Dixie Tour win, but hunting him down are a plethora of National Championship Trophy winners, along with a few Champions themselves. Anyone who wants to win will have to outwheel Robert Carpenter, Brian Priebe, and a host of other very fast drivers.

Bristol Parade Laps: Want to drive on the oval? Now's your chance! If at least 40 people express interest, Bristol has agreed to open up the oval for a few parade laps. This will take place Saturday afternoon, 4-6PM. For more information, shoot Jeff Cox an email at: jcox07@comcast.net

As always, remember to tune into sololive.scca.com for up to the second live timing, and keep an ear out to the SCCA uStream page for video and commentary from the best announcers in the business!
