Tune-In: 2015 Tire Rack Lincoln Championship Tour

Tune-In on uStream to the 2015 Tire Rack Lincoln ProSolo!

Lincoln, Neb, (May 20, 2015) – The Tire Rack SCCA Solo Championship Tour makes its way to Lincoln, Nebraska as the second half of the Spring Nationals experience. 286 competitors provide deep competition and a preview of what we might see when Solo Nationals returns to Lincoln in September.

C prepared: Big slicks, bigger power and deep talent mean this nine-car field is one to watch. Five Texans drive their ongoing brawl 1000 miles north to the grippy Lincoln concrete. Multi-time National Champion Mark Madarash brings his familiar Trans-Am to defend his Lincoln Tour win from last year. His car has gone on a diet and Madarash is fresh from a Pro Solo Super Challenge win at Blytheville, which might make you think he was a lock for the win. But Todd Farris has a National Championship in CP. He and his talented co-driver Jeff Stroh have been re-engineering their Camaro from nose to tail. Between the two of them they have a garage full of Nationals trophies. Fresh from a win at the Texas Tour they will be tough to beat. No strangers to the top spots Chris Cargill and Wayne Atkins have joined the arms race with significant suspension development on their beautiful red 1985 Camaro. Not enough competition for you? How about Chris Miller in his unique and immaculate turbocharged four cylinder Mustang. A second place finish in this event last year and a 4th at nationals show he has the speed to win.

Story Bar

What's the real story of Spring Nationals? Tires. The fact is, everyone around the country is wondering what the new offerings from Kumho, Bridgestone and BFGoodrich will do on "Lincoln Concrete". We know BFG did some testing post Nationals on rubbered in concrete, but what we don't know is if the V720 and the RE-71Rs will be able to match the Rival S out of the box without the same development circumstances. This will likely be one of the most followed Spring Nationals ever.

C Street is the largest class with 20 cars. Dave Ogburn III has switched cars and classes but his speed remains intact. He has piloted his Scion FR-S to class wins at The Texas Champ tour and the Blytheville Pro. Chris Harvey will be hungry for the win as he and his MX-5 were just a few ticks behind Ogburn at Blytheville. Look for Mike Bronson in the only RX-8 to be in the hunt as well.

National Championship winners Jason Rhoades and David Whitener will be showing off their driving and car development skills as they lock horns for the lead in the 18 car Street Touring R field. Rhoades brings a 370Z he has been preparing to his usual immaculate standard. Whitener is also in new territory bringing his meticulous preparation skills to bear on a 1999 Miata. They will both have their hands full with a deep field. Ricky Crow is no stranger to the top spot. Fresh from wins at the Texas Tour and the Blytheville Pro Solo Crow will be looking to continue his winning ways.
