Memorial day weekend is coming! Sure you could be spending it outside doing the same old boring BBQ in your backyard while that neighbor you don’t really like tells you about his issues with building codes... OR... you could be in Lincoln Nebraska BBQing on the best solo site in the country! Hosted by your favorite Nationals Staff, and course design still TBD (likely Howard Duncan). This is one event that shouldn’t be missed. However, in case you need more convincing, here are your five reasons to go:
- 1. Run the Nationals site. It’s been beaten to death, but it is still be best reason to come out. A 4 day race weekend at the Nationals site. It may be hard to justify a trip for just a Pro or just a Tour, but you can bag both events at once on a long holiday weekend. Not only does it double your value, but it also gives you the ability to nab one of your requirements for the Solo Triad award and practice for another.
- 2. Your best chance for All Coast competition. Strelnieks, Madarash, Whitener(s), Wong(s), McCance, Lugod, Dorsey, Tovsen, Zust and many more. There is no other ProSolo event before the Finale that you can compete against competition from the East, West, South and evening Canada! This is your chance to run against your top competitors.
- 3. The Weather. If you have been to Lincoln before, you know that the weather can change drastically. One minute it can be dry, and minutes later raining. As not fun as that sounds, that's the practice you need to be ready for Nationals in September. Try out your rain setup, your warm and cold weather setups, all in one weekend. The testing value can’t be beat.
- 4. The food! Unless you’re a hermit, you know and love the Lincoln food and beer options. As much of a tradition as Lazlo’s and Buzzard Billy’s have become, there is a hidden spot everyone should try. D'Leon on fabulous O-Street. Backing up to the most beautiful trailer park you will find, the majestic view of this drive through only Mexican food joint will leave you breathless. On top of the wonderful location, the prices are very reasonable and the quantities are large. Consider this for your next group on-site meal or after-drinking food. You won't be disappointed.
- 5. Comradery! A long Holiday weekend with your friends from around the country. What better weekend can you think of than hanging out and bench racing with good friends out on the pavement. Come on out and have ball!
