2015 Dixie Championship Tour Tune-In

Tune into uStream for all the action starting Saturday

Due to a minor glitch in North American weather programming, the Blytheville ProSolo has been pushed till May, which means that...

DIXIE... Still Number 1! Now, onto our top stories leading up to the Dixie Championship Tour...

Street Tires: With one year of the new Street classes behind us, over half the competitors at Dixie are running street tires - mixed between the Street and ST classes. With a few new additions since last year's Nationals, namely the Dunlop ZII Star Spec and the Bridgestone RE-71R, Dixie will be the first large scale test at a National level of some of the new compounds. Preliminary reports have been trickling in, but be prepared for the internet to explode in tire commentary in a week!

Classes to Watch: As it was last year, STX is once again the largest class at Dixie. With last year's Dixie winner Bryan Heitkotter not in class, 19 hopefuls will be clamoring at the bit to take the crown. Last year's STR champ David Marcus has moved into STX to try for the win, leaving the door potentially open for Ricky Crow to move up one position to take the win this year in the perennially fast S2000 CR. SSM has last year's National Champion Matthew Glagola, in a blazing fast (and blazing orange) Lotus Elise. Chasing right after him will be his codriver, Marc Osgood, along with Brian and Tara Johns in their turbo Mazda RX-7.

Weather, taken with a very large grain of salt: Last year, Dixie was marred by a sudden downpour of truly epic proportions, with visibility (and traction) dropping so low that the event could not safely be continued. As it stands now, temperatures are forecast to be up in the 70's. However, there is a possibility of rain on both Friday and Saturday, with Sunday appearing to be dry. Don't leave those Hoosier Wets at home! Of course, given the time of year, anything is possible, and with any luck, we'll have lots of clean, dry runs!
