Solo in the Great Lakes Division is alive and well!!!
In 2014, the Great Lakes Solo Series elebrated its 29th year of competition. The Great Lakes Division Solo Series is the longest running divisional series in the country and was modeled after the National SCCA Tours.
For 2014, the Great Lakes Division Solo Series had seven (7) Regions in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky hosting eight (8) events with seven (7) days of comptition. The participating regions were Cincinnati Region, Ohio Valley Region, Fort Wayne Region, Indianapolis Region, Detroit Region, Sagniaw Valley Region and the Kentucky Region. We averaged 130 cars per event in 2014 and over 1000 registrations. We had 647 different drivers participate throughout the season.
The sponsors of the 2014 season are SKF USA, SPS (SoloPerformance.com) and Hoosier Tire. These great sponsors enabled us to present nice awards to all those eligible at our events.
I am excited for the 2015 Solo Season and the 30th anniversary. Those of you that have attended one of these events know firsthand about the great times and good comptition that takes place even if the weather doesn not fully coorporate at times.
Looking forward to seeing all of our SCCA members that I have met along the way again to share more fun times. Good competition and friendly faces - doesn't get much better than that.
