5toGo: 2015 Dixie Championship Tour

Register for the Dixie Champ Tour

  1. Start the year off right! Traditionally, the Dixie Championship Tour is the first National event of the year, and for many people, the first step on the road to Lincoln. This year, Blytheville takes the honors, but Dixie is still the first Championship tour of the year. It's the perfect chance to shake off the cobwebs and to start getting the car and the driver ready for a run at a championship.
  2. See where you stack up. After a long (and in some parts, very cold) winter, Dixie is, for most people, the first chance to see how they compare to the competition. Many of the East Coast's top autocrossers converge on South Georgia Motorsports Park, so it's the ideal venue to see what may need some improvement, with ample time before Nationals. If you can win at Dixie, you're in pretty good shape.
  3. Escape the cold! This past winter, large swaths of the country were buried under mountains of snow. Luckily, down here, temperatures have already started to warm up, and historically, Dixie is bordering on shorts and T-shirt weather. Why not come down to the toasty South and play with some cars? In many parts of the country, autocross season doesn't even start till April. Get a head start on the rest of the competition!
  4. The site. South Georgia Motorsports Park lends itself to long, fast, transition intensive courses. Runway layouts are common, with the occasional twist. The asphalt is overall very smooth, making it a predictable site and relatively easy to drive on. The site allows a driver to set up car handling without any major surprises, leaving us with what amounts to fast, fun, challenging, and useful courses.
  5. Southern hospitality. With Dixie Region hosting, and a large contingent from Atlanta, Florida, and even heading as far west as Texas, Dixie is always a good time! The welcome party on Friday is not one to miss, with grill masters churning out food all evening long. Festivities may continue late into the evening, with rumors of Four Square abounding... At Dixie, the fun never stops, so come along and start your autocross season off with warm weather, clean runs, and a good time with all of us!
