First, I’d like to thank all the members of the Advisory Committees for their hard work and dedication to helping the Solo program. These folks work hard and give an extraordinary amount of their precious time and energy to helping the SEB.
Below is a summary of the major rule changes for 2015. These are NOT the only rule changes and you should read the Board of Director’s minutes in the December Fastrack which will be available about November 20th on the SCCA web site at http://www.scca.com/about/?cid=44415. The exact wording is given there as well as all the rule changes. All of these changes have been published for member comment in previous Fastracks and have been approved by the Board of Directors.
Safety
When cars are in the vicinity of the FJ grid or course, it’s alright for the cars to be pushed if the karts are running under their own power. It’s acceptable for cars in a separate grid from the FJ grid to be in motion under power.
Street
With the exception of SSR, all the R classes (ASR thru HSR) are no longer offered nationally.
The UTGQ treadwear grade goes from a minimum of 140 to 200 for SS thru HS. There is no change to the tire rule for SSR.
Street Touring
The UTGQ treadwear grade goes from a minimum of 140 to 200.
All cars in STC move to STS and STC is no longer a national class.
Street Modified
Front wheel drive cars can also run in SM using the SM weight formulas. This allows two seat front wheel drive cars to compete in SM.
Prepared
DP, EP, and GP have been restructured. DP becomes a rear wheel drive class and EP becomes a front wheel drive class. GP is deleted. The limited prep cars previously in GP are moved to EP with changes to the limited prep allowances. The rotary engine rear wheel drive cars in EP are moved to FP. There are also changes to the weight formulas and allowances, see the details in the 2014 December Fastrack when released about November 20th: http://www.scca.com/about/?cid=44415
