Run Work Order

- Drive D Work B M, P, SM
- 1. Single/Double Driver Lines When you are ready to make a run bring your car to the appropriate single or double driver line. These lines will be run similarly to the “yellow” areas at a pro solo. Drivers need to be ready to run and stay in their cars. Helpers can check tire pressure, make shock adjustments, etc. One exception to normal “yellow” zone rules is that a helper can spray tires and radiators.
- 2. Pit Lane If you are not ready to make a run for any reason bring your car to pit lane. In this area drivers can get out of their cars, spray their own tires, change tires, or anything that is normally acceptable in grid.
- 3. Penalty Box During the morning practice session if you hit a cone(s), DNF, spin, etc bring your car directly to the penalty box. An event official will give you your “time out” penalty at which point your car must remain parked for the designated amount of time. It is your own responsibility to bring a phone, watch, sundial, or any other time keeping device. In the penalty box no car adjustments or mechanical work of any sort (including tire spraying and checking pressure) are allowed except for legitimate imminent emergencies.
- Red Flag: The red flag means stop.
- The solid red flag is displayed when conditions are too unsafe to continue the run. If you see a red flag come to a controlled stop in view of a corner station and wait for instructions from a corner worker. Corner workers are advised to display the red flag at any point they deem it necessary to prevent immediate danger.
- Yellow Flag The yellow flag means caution.
Paddock
The Nebraska Region will be erecting a temporary snow fence for the day running east/west at about the third row of paddock. So you will need to move ALL of your stuff from your old paddock spot to a new location in the first three rows. Please take care of this in the morning before the event begins.
Tech
2014 Solo Nationals tech does apply to the solo trials event. If you are only running solo trials you will need to contact Doug Gill between 6:457:15. Additionally competitors are required to determine if they are compliant with the additional solo trials specific rules located in appendix D of the solo rulebook.
Grid
In grid there will be 3 areas:
Working Procedures
During the drivers meeting the official run/work order will be released. The event will run be run very strictly on schedule. We will doing hot worker swaps with no stops between heats. Please show up to your work assignment 10 minutes early, this is crucial for everyone to get the maximum amount of seat time and for us all to get back on the road early.
Morning Practice Session Procedures
During the morning practice sessions each competitor will get one hour of time in which they can get as many runs as possible. This session is for practice only, and timing and scoring will not be guaranteed. Unlike a normal solo event there will be no reruns for any reason. If there is a cone down on the course please slow down momentarily and point it out to a corner worker before proceeding at normal speed. If you hit a cone(s), spin, or DNF you will be given a “time out” and must stay in the penalty box for the designated amount of time.
Competitors are advised to take a crawl-walk-run strategy during their morning practice session. Remember these runs do not count!
Afternoon Competition Session Procedures
During the afternoon competition sessions each competitor will be guaranteed 3 timed runs. This session will run with normal solo procedures, i.e., cones = 2 seconds added to your run, reruns will be given for downed cones, red/yellow flags etc. Competitors may be allowed additional runs if time allows.
Flags
The solid yellow flag, or caution flag, universally requires drivers to slow down due to a hazard on the track. This may be due to a car spinning out on another part of the course or a corner worker out on course picking up cones. If you see a yellow flag slow down to 6070% speed and continue the run keeping an eye out for hazzards.
Corner workers are advised to display the yellow flag if there is a spun car anywhere on the course. Or if there is a corner worker picking up a cone in the immediate area. Please note that the yellow flag will only be used in the morning session.
Other Regulations
Passengers are allowed during the morning practice session and not allowed during the afternoon competition runs.
All drivers must at a minimum wear 100% cotton (no blends) outer wear that effectively covers the body from neck to ankles and wrists. All drivers must wear shoes that cover the entire foot. This is a minimum requirement and fire suits are recommended.
During the morning practice session if at any time a competitor has a mechanical failure on course they will be given a strict time out penalty including possible exclusion from additional practice runs.
Competitors are advised to read through the solo trials rules located in appendix D of the solo rulebook.
