During this weekend’s U.S. Majors Tour event on the Circuit of St. Louis at Gateway Motorsports Park, KSDK Channel 5 in St. Louis came for a visit. And while the SCCA race was a back drop, the news channel really focused on what makes SCCA great – the people.
Formula Enterprises driver Tom Muffler, of Florissant, Missouri - a St. Louis suburb – and the hosting St. Louis Region put on a Military Appreciation Day during Sunday’s races. Pre-race ceremonies included the presentation of the colors by the 12th district of Missouri Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Team, with Senior Airman Denver Murphy of Scott Air Force Base singing the National Anthem.
Muffler, with the help of the local USO, helped place Wounded Warriors in pace car rides throughout the day.
“I live in St. Louis,” Muffler said. “I’m from St. Louis. I was born and raised here. St. Louis is our home track, so we came out this weekend to support our military in the St. Louis area.”
