The Aug. 18 SCCA Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack event at Willow Springs International Raceway in Southern California will have a special guest: the new 2016 Mazda MX-5 Cup race car!
Only a few such cars are currently in the United States. No, you won’t be allowed to drive the sleek, curvy Mazda MX-5 Cup racer during SCCA Track Night in America. But you will get an early, close-up look at a car destined to become a favorite of club and pro racers alike. You might even get to touch the car --- as long as you wash your hands first.
Also scheduled to be in attendance Aug. 18 are Mazda factory racers Tom Long and Kenton Koch. They’ll be on hand to sign autographs, take some selfies, and are happy to chat about auto racing. You might even see one of them running the Mazda MX-5 Cup car through its paces on track! Plus, folks that show up in their everyday Mazda might be awarded some free MAZDASPEED swag!
