Around Club Racing, there are many great drivers on the track, but it’s their character off the track that separates them from the rest. Jon Goodale is one of the special breed of racers who is fiercely competitive on the track, but always willing to lend a hand off the track. His friends have known this since his days racing an ITS RX-7, but now the masses know. Mazda has recognized Goodale as a Spirit of Mazda award recipient.

“Jon is the type of guy that really epitomizes the spirit of Club Racing overall. So when you think of the Spirit of Mazda, you have to start there. He's the kind of guy that does absolutely everything himself, but he does it because he absolutely loves being at the racetrack and around other racers. And not just being there, but also helping to make sure everyone has the best time possible.”

Goodale makes the third racer honored with this award. The Spirit of Mazda is based on the same drive and excellence that Mazda takes pride in. Recipients must be nominated by the Mazda community and selected by Mazda Motorsports.
