From the CRB: At the December Board of Directors’ meeting in Topeka, the Board voted to suspend the 2.5 class participation rule for two seasons. They then asked the Club Racing Board to prepare a plan to actively manage the classes. They have directed that the CRB present a proposal for alignment of classes, with an overall reduction in the number of National classes. The proposed goal is 24, or less, national classes.
So, suspension of the 2.5-rule does not mean that classes with low participation numbers will automatically continue in the National racing program.
The CRB, in turn, has asked the Advisory Committees to start working on how to make this happen. Although the Touring and SS Committee has been working on this for some time, all classes are now included. The BoD has directed that the proposal be presented to them at the National Convention on March 3rd.
