There's a lot to see and do this weekend at the penultimate Northern Conference Majors Tour weekend, and with 180 cars on track, it may be tough to keep it straight. Here are just a few things to watch for: Green Flags: Following this weekend at GingerMan, only the series finale at Gateway Motorsports Park remains on the Northern Conference Schedule. Points are at a premium this weekend for drivers with an eye on the season-long prize… In America Sedan, Andy McDermid has a four-point advantage over Scott Schweitzer in a battle of Ford Mustangs. McDermid missed Mid-Ohio, but has won in all three races he’s participated in this season… Ralph Provitz holds the C Sports Racing lead with four wins, but is only six points up on Richard Colburn…With E Production leader Joe Moser not currently on the entry list, that close could close up considerably this weekend…Jacek Mucha won C Sports Racing in the Eastern Conference. He’s the current Formula Atlantic leader in the North…Robert Allaer leads Jason Bach by six seconds in Formula Continental. Allaer and Bach finished one-two in the opener this season at Michigan…Russell Ruedisueli can extend his Formula F point lead at GingerMan… Jason Vinkmulder and Dale Vandenbush could both emerge as the Formula Mazda point leader following the weekend… Kevin Ruck has won three out of four F Production races he’s attended this season in the Northern Conference to take the class lead…Just eight points separate Brandon Abbott, Michael Varacins, Charles McCormick and Andrew Abbott in Formula Vee. All four are on this weekend’s entry list…Dick Greer is still going strong at 81 years old in GT-1 and leads the Conference in points…Michael Bautz is coming off of a win at the June Sprints, and leads Sports 2000… Just three points separate leader David Bednarz from Michael Novak in Spec Miata… Charles Tobel can extend a sizeable Super Touring Under lead this weekend at GingerMan… Look for John Buttermore’s Touring 1 lead to stretch with a strong showing. He’s three for three in Northern Conference starts this season… The entry list lines up for Gary Mason to extend in Touring 2… Greg Vandersluis is in the driver’s seat to take control of Touring 4 with a pair of strong finishes. He’s won at all four Northern Conference events he’s entered in 2013.
Family Fun: GingerMan Raceway is open for spectators as guests of the South Bend Region for just $10 per day, and includes an open paddock to get up close and personal with the cars and drivers. Children 12 and under are free.
Runoffs Race On: While the Northern Conference drivers are concentrating on their penultimate race weekend at GingerMan, all of SCCA is abuzz with this week’s announcement of the next three sites of the SCCA National Championship Runoffs. The 50th Runoffs will be held this fall at Road America, September 16-20. From there, the event will travel to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in 2014, Daytona International Speedway in 2015, and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in 2016.

Qualifying: Six Race Groups Saturday, July 13 at 8:00 a.m. (20 minutes) For Sunday’s races: 10-lap or 20-minute (whichever comes first) qualifying races. Groups 1 and 2 following Saturday’s races, Groups 3-6 on Sunday morning.
