JENNINGS, Okla. (April 4, 2014) – The mid-way point of the 2014 season is just around the corner, as Rounds Five and Six of the SCCA U.S. Majors Tour Mid-States Conference competition is set to begin this weekend at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit.
The seven run groups will qualify on Saturday morning, then we head into one timed race for each group. Sunday features 25-lap or 40-minute races, whichever comes first, starting at 9:25 a.m. (CDT). The full schedule is available here.

Thunder in Oklahoma: In a state known for extreme weather, hearing rumblings while outdoors is not new. However, some of this weekend’s noise will be compliments of the SCCA big-bore classes, American Sedan, GT-1, GT-2, GT-3 and Touring 1. Entries in those classes account for 26 of the drivers slated to take to the northeastern Oklahoma road course. This will be the largest collection of these ground-pounding machines to hit the track in Mid-States competition, thus far, in 2014.
Spec Racer Spectacular: Spec Racer Ford is another of the large classes featuring 24 entries. Keith Verges has the chance to capitalize on these two races, when it concerns the season-long conference points. Currently sitting second, Verges can jump into the lead in the point battle ahead of Denny Stripling while furthering his lead over Darryl Wills. Both Stripling and Wills are not slated to start this two-race event.
Fun for The Family: Fans may attend the event at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit as guests of the SCCA for a $10 per day and $15 for the weekend. Spectators under 12 years of age will be admitted for $5 per day. Admission allows spectators into the garage areas for up-close visits with the drivers and cars.
