TOPEKA, Kan. (Dec. 20, 2007) Rounds Seven and Eight of the 2007 SCCA Pro Racing SIRIUS Satellite Radio Mazda MX-5 Cup from Trois-Rivieres and Miller Motorsports Park air Saturday, Dec. 22, on SPEED.Beginning at 4 p.m. (EST), Jason Saini starts his No. 28 Autobarn Mazda/SafeRacer.com MX-5 on pole with a shot at clinching the 2007 MX-5 Cup Championship a round early. The tight and challenging confines of the Trois-Rivieres street circuit prove treacherous for several drivers, bringing out three caution periods during the race. The delays in action only prolong Sainis anxiety in the car as every gap he builds on the No. 56 BSI/Team Garcia/MOMO/Joe Gibbs MX-5 of Todd Buras, is immediately erased. Will the race end under yellow, or will Buras get a last lap shot at Saini? Tune into SPEED to find out.Next at 4:30, its the season finale from Miller Motorsports Park. Andrew Caddell nabs his second pole of the season in the No. 30 Team MER/AimSport/Pinnacle Mazda MX-5, but a missed shift sends Caddell back to fifth on the start. While his teammate Saini takes over the lead, Caddell fights his way back to third, just in time for a full-course caution, courtesy of debris on the front stretch. On the restart, its a three-way battle between Caddell, Saini and the No. 80 Hooverspeed/MobiTV MX-5 of Matt Cross. An ailing gearbox for Saini quickly turns the trio into a duet. As time ticks away on the final MX-5 race of 2007, one of the two will leave the rest of the field in the dust.Keep your eyes peeled for actors Patrick Dempsey (Greys Anatomy), Frankie Muniz (Malcom in the Middle) and Ian Ziering (Beverly Hills 90210) going head-to-head with MX-5 Cup regulars. To learn more visit www.mx-5cup.com and check out the 2008 SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup schedule.
