
LEXINGTON, Ohio (July 18, 2008) Chip Herr, of Lititz, Pa., set the fastest SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Touring Car practice time of the weekend Friday afternoon at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Jason Saini, of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Montreals Kuno Wittmer completed the top three.Driving the No. 97 Mazdaspeed/Tindol Motorsports MAZDA6 in the hot late afternoon sun, Herr turned the fastest lap of the day on his final tour of the session, a 1:34.489 (86.029 mph).Saini, who led the morning practice in his No. 74 Mazdaspeed/Stoptech/Racinghart MAZDA6, was second fastest in the afternoon session and on the day, with a 1:34.788 (85.757 mph).Wittmer was the first non-Mazda on the charts, turning a 1:34.795 (85.751 mph) in his No. 44 Acura/RealTime/Eibach/Red Line Acura TSX. Michael Galati, of Olmsted, Ohio, and Charles Espenlaub completed the top five in their MAZDA6s.Qualifying for Sundays Round Seven race is scheduled for 10 a.m. (EST) Saturday morning.
