(July 24, 2008) Entering the third race of an already competitive series, the SCCA Pro Racing VW Jetta TDI Cup will make its only stop on the West Coast at Portland International Raceway on July 27. The clean diesel race series is anticipating an enthusiastic welcome in what is widely known as one of the greenest cities in America. These clean diesel vehicles are going to bring a whole new element of racing to an area that already has a significant interest in the environment. Our drivers have had a bit of a break since the last race, and were excited to be back and ready to hit the track in Portland.The Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup series is an innovative approach to motorsports 30 factory-prepared and managed 2009 clean-diesel Jetta TDIs will be piloted by talented, up-and-coming drivers, aged 16 to 26. Volkswagens goal is to find the driver with the most talent and help them break into the world of professional motorsports. The Jetta TDI Cup series, the first all clean-diesel race series, is sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing Inc.
