TOPEKA, Kan. (May 27, 2009) Television programming for the 2009 SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup season has commenced. Race fans will have plenty of opportunities to view each exciting one-hour program produced by Carolinas Production Group, with several new cable and satellite affiliates added to the channel lineup this season. In 2009, the series will reach more than 75 million households, a 40 percent increase from 2008. MX-5 Cup Round One has already begun to air on Time Warner Cable SportsNet in Buffalo and Rochester, N.Y., as well as the MavTV Network. The one-hour program from Road Atlanta is not to be missed, as it will introduce fans to all the new faces for the 2009 season, including Lyonel Kent, who claims the first MX-5 Cup pole of the season in his first race with the series. The action never lets up when the green flag flies, as Kent, Ara Malkhassian, Mark Jenkins and Marc Miller work the draft to capitalize on each others mistakes and swap the order at every other corner. The race is exactly what fans have come to expect from MX-5 Cup; close, fun racing with a pair of Playboy Playmates cheering the field on. The Road Atlanta race will begin to air on Comcast SportsNet California on Thursday, May 28, and on America One on Friday, May 29. Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, Time Warner Sports 3 Albany, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Comcast Entertainment 900 Michigan, Bright House Sports Network and Cox 3 Orange County will all broadcast the race the weekend of May 30 31.
