The 1300-competitor entry cap for Solo Nationals was again hit within hours of Tier 3 registrations being open, and we expect to have another packed event. It's time to start thinking about the paddock and party situation!

Check through these Paddock registration procedures to make sure you secure a spot for yourself or your Group in Paddock.

HOW’S IT GOING TO WORK (FOR COMPETITORS)?

Every competitor is guaranteed a single Paddock space, which measures roughly 25’x25’. Your MSR Nationals Registration entry will be used to confirm that you are a registered, non-waitlisted competitor in order to secure your spot.

If you were part of a group last year and want to remain in that group, reach out to your Region/Team’s Group Leader to make sure you are on their list again. Each Group will be assigned a block of spaces based on the number of registered competitors that they submit.

If you do not wish to join a Group Paddock and would like to select a specific paddock space, Individual Paddock Registration opens on Wednesday, August 14 (more details to follow). You can also choose to show up to Lincoln, and a spot will be assigned to you.

HOW’S IT GOING TO WORK (FOR GROUPS)?

The minimum group size will be 6 competitors. If you have 5 or less competitors in your group, you can register during the individual paddock registration time period or join a larger group.

VERY IMPORTANT: Every year, Groups ask to be placed at or near the front of Paddock, near the courses. As always, we are still limited by physics and can only have so many spots at the front of paddock. “Requested/desired location” is NOT a consideration for placement of Groups. If a competitor has a medical or mobility limitation, we have reserved spaces up front to accommodate them (Please contact the Paddock Team for more details about these spaces).

NEW THIS YEAR: Want your group to officially be part of the party? We’re looking for 5-10 groups to bring the Welcome Party to the paddock – more below, but we wanted to make sure you kept reading!

If you were your Region/Team’s Group Leader last year and are up for the task again this year – start gathering your names – Mat Beck and Tom Holt (The Paddock Team) will be in contact with you (go ahead and check your inbox for an email from “Solo Paddock”). If you are a new Group Leader or are no longer your Region’s Group Leader, please have the new person reach out to the Paddock Team at solopaddock@scca.com

Group Paddock Registration Requests will close at 12:01am Central on Thursday, August 1st. All competitors will need to use the Individual Paddock Registration process after that date.

HOW’S IT GOING TO WORK (FOR THE PARTY)?

The National Solo Team is looking for 5-10 groups who would be up to the Chuckwagon Challenge! Think block party. Think cook-off. You bring your best vittles and local beverages, enough to provide a hearty sample to the hungry cowpokes. Said cowpokes sample the wares Monday afternoon/evening and a winner is chosen by community voting. Sheriff Myers and his deputies provide funding for the effort and the winning group comes away with a prize for the Region! Participating groups will be strategically placed to create a Main Street off the TREC. Please note that these spaces are still constrained by physics and will still need to be placed within available space. Up for the Challenge? Submit your group’s interest to Sheriff Myers at rmyers@scca.com by Monday, July 8 at 3pm Central. Once selected, a separate form will follow to collect pertinent details from your group about your shindig.
