It’s Vegas, Baby, and like any epic Las Vegas adventure, one weekend just isn’t enough.
The Tire Rack SCCA® ProSolo® Championship Series made its first of two consecutive trips to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway over the March 21-23, 2025, weekend, with Las Vegas Region hosting an amazing event where everyone was looking for aces.
With jets flying overhead, the Doug Rowse-designed ProSolo courses brought the excitement with intense class competition followed by nail-biting bracket-style Challenges, all in side-by-side action.
Who held all the cards? Who went home bust? We’ve got those details.
Class Comps
Some of the best autocrossers in the Western US lined up for a week in Vegas, and that led to a showdown between James Yom and Marc Segal in A Street. Yom used his final runs on each side to put the power down on the 2011 Porsche 911 to top Segal’s Cayman GTS by 0.971sec.
It was a battle of Supras in B Street between Dennis Hubbard and Kevin Schultz with the BMW M2 of Lane Farka lurking in the shadows. The order at the finish was Hubbard, Schultz and Farka, with 0.405sec separating first from third in the trophies.
That was a blowout compared to Solo Spec Coupe, where 0.085sec separated first to third. Taylour Wargo led the way by 0.026sec over Paul Brown, with Kevin Dietz a “long way back” at 0.033sec behind Brown.
Need more evidence of close competition? Adrian Cardenas was 0.041sec ahead of co-driver Scott Mullens in A Street Touring, Cameron Goode was 0.036sec ahead of Matt Ales in Street 1, and Nicole Wong was 0.042sec ahead of Christine Grice in Ladies Class 2.
New for the weekend were Ladies 2 driver Marceline Martin and Street 1 driver Daniel Domingcil. Martin and Domingcil were the weekend’s Howard Duncan Greenlight Fund recipients, which offers free entries to select, first-time ProSolo entrants. While neither finished in the trophies, both drivers saw great improvements over the course of the weekend.
Laura Corodimas, meanwhile, was the SCCA Women on Track Driver Development winner, an initiative that aids one randomly selected woman at each Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Tour and ProSolo Series event with an opportunity for a one-on-one, 30-minute virtual coaching session with a top-tier driver from the sport. Corodimas was coached by Andrew Redding and landed a respectable eighth in Ladies 2.

Challenging
Kameron Clements narrowly missed the trophies in class competition in his E Street Touring Mazda Miata, but once he drew into the Bonus Challenge he kept his weekend alive. He topped Ales Paraskevas in the opener, Tim Weidermann in the semi-finals, and Andrew Redding in the finals to capture the Bonus Challenge win.
Meridith Bunsawat finished second to Laney Blume in Ladies Class 3, but her H Street Honda Civic Si was hot in the Ladies Challenge. Bunsawat dumped Christine Grice in the opener, then dropped Kendra Mabie in the semifinals to set up a rematch with her weekend nemesis, Blume. Bunsawat won the war, topping Blume in the finals to win the Ladies Challenge.
As the Ladies Challenge winner, Meridith Bunsawat will have the ability to present an SCCA Women on Track “Pay It Forward” certificate (which is good for a free National Solo event entry) to a female novice from her Region.
Wargo’s SSC class competition prepped him well for the Super Challenge. Once qualifying ended, Wargo pushed aside Sean Velandia and Mason Herrick to make the finals against Dave Schotz. Wargo’s SSC car and Schotz’ CAM machine looked very different, but Wargo came out on top in the end to take the points for both the class win and the Super Challenge.
Double Down
Up next, it’s… Vegas! That’s right – the Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo Championship Series runs it back this weekend at the same location (with, obviously, different course layouts).
